When Nisa and William Walker returned home to Guyana from New York, they found themselves longing for one thing above all else — a really good cup of coffee. Tired of asking friends to carry beans back from abroad, they decided to do something about it.
In 2005, on Carmichael Street in the heart of Georgetown, they opened Oasis Cafe with a simple vision: create a space that felt like an extension of their own living room.
“The intention was, and remains until this day, to make everyone visiting Oasis Cafe feel as though they are sitting in their living room.”— Nisa Walker, Co-founder
Premium beans from the world's finest growing regions, brewed to perfection every cup.
Pine tarts, cheese rolls, chocolate cake & pastries made from scratch each morning.
Fresh herbs grown on-site — cilantro, rosemary, thyme, basil, and mint in every dish.
Wine, tapas & live vibes every Friday evening until 10:30 PM. A Georgetown tradition.
The roti with the eggplant and pumpkin curry was super flavourful. The hazelnut ice coffee and chocolate cake, so rich and sweet. This is my go-to every time I come back!

10/10 experience! The pine tart was warmed up and tasted delicious! The cappuccino was made perfectly! It's a nice cozy spot to just hang out.
